Sara O'Leary is a writer of books for both children and adults. She was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and now lives on the Fundy coast. She has a degree in screenwriting from the University of British Columbia and has taught both screenwriting and writing for children at Concordia University in Montreal.
Her novel, The Ghost in the House was published by Doubleday Canada. She is also the author of a collection of short fiction, Comfort Me With Apples, and a collection of postcard stories, Wish You Were Here. Her work was selected for Best Canadian Stories 2021. She is a former literary columnist for The Vancouver Sun and CBC Radio.
She has written a number of critically acclaimed books for children, including This is Sadie, which was adapted for the stage by New York City Children's Theater. Her most recent publications are The Little Books of the Little Brontës, A Kid is a Kid is a Kid, Gemma and the Giant Girl, and This is Ruby.
