My mentoring is informed by my background teaching university workshops in fiction, screenwriting, and writing for children. I studied writing at the University of British Columbia and Concordia University. In addition to publishing a novel and several collections of short fiction, I have now published sixteen picture books.
For the past decade I have been privately working with both published and yet-to-be-published picture book writers and writer/illustrators in the areas of writing, submitting, and publishing books for children.
I am offering both a manuscript critique and a more intensive ten week mentoring session which includes Zoom sessions. Details below.
I will provide a written critique on a single draft of your picture book manuscript (maximum 1000 words). If you'd also like me to look at your dummy then just let me know. The critique will include both line edits and general notes on elements like structure, character, and style to help you take your manuscript to the next level. Alternately, I can offer notes on your submission or query letter at the same rate. Message me with any questions you may have.
Payment is to be made in advance. Refunds will not be offered.
